For a while now I have been gradually finding my feet, after a period of great change, laced with some major difficulties. Although it is getting easier and I am becoming stronger and challenging myself more, I still suffer from a lack of confidence because of my disfigured finger joints, and yet deep down I know I have a lot to offer and am planning to embark on more things in terms of my career, once we have moved house (again) in January.
Today, in a waiting room, I read my horoscope:
"You don't know what you are capable of. The only way you can find out is to try something you are unsure of. It is, of course, important to know your limitations. But it is also important not to restrict yourself too severely or you will never know the true extent of your inner potential. You are in a position to achieve much more than you think. Think of yourself as a person of great talent, insight and resourcefulness. For ultimately, that is, indeed, exactly what you are."
This hit the spot for me today, I took a photograph of this with my phone. I am sure it applies to many of us.
Believe in you!!

Absolutely you can believe in this... and so glad that you do!xx
The words are so appropriate for you and for me..... though I don't usually believe in horoscopes.
I think you are a brave lady and you have come through a tremendous ordeal.
I think I am also stronger than I thought I was.
Its good to know, isn't it?

Nuts in May
Awesome! I totally believe in you.
Thanks for this... it applies to me too..... not always, but there are certainly more times than not where for a moment or more I forget to believe in me.
A big hug for you and remember that we all have silly thoughts about our bodies not matter how perfect they are.

PS... is your move in January to a home that you have purchased? I hope your next move is a good one no matter if you have bought or will be leasing.
I'm still leasing and I know the agony that some house moves can casue.
take care x
I am so pleased you are coming through the mizzle. And with such style and grace. Truly, you are a great woman. xx
A wonderful reminder, Joanne.
I'm constantly caught between my physical and emotional limits, and the knowledge that I can do so much more. So I keep testing my limits.
Thank you for sharing this.
Humans need this kind of reminder, because we are constantly bombarde by tasks and situations that stress the crap out of us. Hope the holidays are are comfort to you.
p.s. Glad to see you back.
I am so thankful I followed Rob-Bears advice to come check you out!
I love this...it's easy to forget our value when those obstacles obscure our view of ourselves. Believing in ourselves is a gift we give ourselves. I live in pain 24/7 due to a head, skull and neck injury and some days it is so darn hard to see any good...it's hard to not beat myself up for all the things I can no longer do or that take me so much longer to do now days.
Then I started doing homecare for a friend of mine. She has severe arthritis and lymses disease. Her feet and hands are disfigured, she cannot raise her arms up very far so she requires my help to do a lot of her self care and to dress...she has had joints replaced and many other surgurys..still her joints are swallon and she hurts horribly...she has taught me this perseverence...and that without believing in herself this disease would have eaten her alive.
She still struggles with feeling of value to society and to those she loves. She fights against being a burden to those that love her.
I really am grateful for finding my way here today. Bless you on your journey. You have encouraged me greatly today and I so appreciate it. Of course you have a lot to offer, as does my friend...many can benefit from your wisdom. XX
This is great and |I am so glad you got to read it and realise it did apply to u=you. It is so easy to forget that we can do great things even in a little wway. Thank you for your kind words over at mine!
Dear Reasons,
I found your blog accidentally. You know how one thing leads to another. I like the horoscope you wrote in your post. It also hit the spot for me. I try to remember it as I deal with issues in my life. Thank you
Catching up on my reading...
Yes, true. Self-belief is probably most important. If you don't buy into the notion that you matter and are important, it is very hard to either be happy or help others to be so, IMHO.
Thinking of you sweetie and hope that things get better for the both of us one day soon
x
It's been a couple of weeks since we heard from you, Mrs. Reasons.
I do hope all of you are OK!
hello from california!
dear joanne,
i did the same thing recently, read a lovely horoscope and tucked it in my bag to save. it is the very hardest thing to hug our own selves isn't it?
believe the words you read because i know they are every bit the truth.
happy holidays dear,
take good care,
xo lori
Of course, that is what you are!!
I hope that the move will go smoothly and that you and your family will have a lovely Christmas. xx
Yes, another one nodding in agreement.
Just dropped by to see how you're doing and realised you will be up to your neck in boxes and packing.
Hope you and yours had a great Xmas and new Year.
Best wishes for the move and a happy 2011
xx
I don't believe in horoscopes but, i like the message this one carries. If we don't stretch ourselves we will never know what we can achieve.
